Artist Book Fair Cologne 2011
Am 02. und 03. September 2011 findet im Kölnischen Kunstverein die 1. Artist Book Fair Cologne statt. Zeitgleich zum Gallery Weekend in Köln und Düsseldorf werden 20 bis 30 nationale und internationale Händler sowie einige Verleger und Institute ihr Programm präsentieren.
Der im Erdgeschoss liegende, schöne Hauptraum mit einer Ausstellungsfläche von 450 Quadratmetern eignet sich aufgrund seiner Architektur optimal zur Durchführung einer Künstlerbuchmesse. Der 9,50 x 50 Meter große Raum verfügt zudem über eine durchgehende Fensterfront zur belebten Straßenseite. Darüber hinaus steht ein weiterer Raum in der ersten Etage als Cafébereich zur Verfügung.
Termine & Öffnungszeiten:
Um eine ständige Publikumspräsenz zu gewährleisten und zudem hohe Nebenkosten (z. B. durch Übernachtung) zu vermeiden, wird die Messe nur an zwei aufeinander folgenden Tagen stattfinden. Vorgesehen ist eine Eröffnung am Freitag den 2. September um 14.00 Uhr, sowie eine Messedauer des ersten Tages bis 21. 00 Uhr, am Samstag den 3. September eine Öffnungszeit von 11.00 - 20.00 Uhr.

"Die art limited- multiple art ist die richtungsweisende Messe für multiplizierbare Kunst. Sie wird seit 1958 im 3 Jahres Rhythmus durchgeführt und ist damit weltweit die älteste Ausstellung dieser Art.
Vom 10. – 14.9.09 wird Grenchen zum Zentrum für Kunstfreunde aus ganz Europa. Ueber 40 Editeure und Verleger aus dem In- und Ausland zeigen die aktuellsten Tendenzen und Entwicklungen im Bereich der multiplizierbaren Kunst mit einem Schwergewicht auf Originaldruckgrafik."

Das Literaturfestival, bis 2007 an die Buch Basel gebunden, hat ab 2008 eine nee Messe

"Die buch.08 findet in der E-Halle auf der Erlenmatt in Basel statt. Die ehemalige Zoll-Halle in der Nähe der Messe ist rund 3000 m2 gross und bietet der buch.08 einen besonderen Charme."

Die Quod Libet 2008 und die 2010 fiel wegen Ausstellermangel aus.

Neuausrichtung ab 2008 : KEINE ZEITGENÖSSISCHEN KÜNSTLERBÜCHER : nur Antiquariat

Die Messe- die durch ihre "moderaten" Preise für Stände und Kunst interessant war für Sammler von Grafik und Künstlerbüchern richtet sich jetzt auf Antiquitäten undAngewandte Kunst und Design aus.

klassischen Moderne, ... Meistern des 19. Jahrhunderts, ... Möbeln und Kunsthandwerk vergangener Epochen, bei Jugendstil und Art Deco sowie außereuropäischer Kunst aus Afrika und Asien. Einen festen Platz erhalten ebenso Buchantiquare, Autographen- und Graphikhändler. Dagegen werden im Bereich der Moderne fortan ausschließlich Werke aus der Zeit vor 1980 gezeigt, auf zeitgenössische Kunst sowie Fotografie wird verzichtet. "

Die letzte "ABI" fand im Dezember 2010 im Centre Georges Pompidou statt. Sie war besser besucht als die ABI 2008.
2009 fand die ABI nicht statt wegen eines Streikes des Personals der Pariser Museen.
Nachdem der Künstlerbuch-Verleger Rik Gadella die Organisation aus der Hand gegeben hat, verwaiste diese eleganteste Messe unter den vielen Künstlerbuchmessen leider sehr schnell.
Das macht uns sehr traurig.
